Can't wait to talk with you! 💕

So many of the women I talk to say when they lose So many of the women I talk to say when they lose
the weight they will feel happier, more confident, proud, accomplished.

The thing is you won't.

I know because I thought the same thing.

I wasn't happier or more confident when I lost 30lbs.

Yes my clothes fit better and yes I felt better.

But I have learned that happiness and contentment doesn't come from losing the weight, making the money or buying the thing.

Happiness is an inside job.

The way I think about myself, my life, my body, and my weight determines how I FEEL about myself.

And when I FEEL happier, more confident and proud I take the actions that will result in what I want in my life.

It's possible that you can feel confident and proud and happy right now if you choose too.

Even when you weigh more than you'd like to weigh.

Here are a few actions I take daily that keep me focused on what's important:

I STOPPED beating myself up when I overate or made a mistake. Instead I got curious, and had compassion ❤️ for myself.

I try to SLOW DOWN and be more mindful throughout my day, especially when I eat.

I try to FOCUS on what's really important in my life: my health, my family, my friends - not my weight.

I FOCUS on the basics so I can feel my best: getting enough sleep 😴 , Moving my body daily, Eating foods that fuel my body 80% of the time, Drinking lots of water 💧 - 1/2 of my body weight in ounces.

Mindset is everything when it comes to losing weight.

It's even more important than the food.

I would love to help you create the mindset that results in losing the 10 or 20lbs.

DM if interested!

There I was standing on the scale and not liking w There I was standing on the scale and not liking what I saw.

I had been doing so good and working so hard and the number wasn't budging.

What is wrong with me?

Why is losing weight so hard for me?

"I was doing so good this week then I stepped on the scale."

Have you ever had these thoughts?

When you step on the scale and the number isn't what you wanted it to be what do you do?

If you're like most women you beat yourself up.

And then you eat to feel better.

You let the scale determine what kind of day you're going to have.

"I might as well eat since nothing is working?"

You let the scale decide how you're going to think about yourself.

"I'm a failure at weight loss".

You give the scale so much power over your life.

You let the scale tell you if you are a success or a failure.

The scale becomes the ruler and dictator of your life.

Here's what you could think instead:

The number on the scale doesn't define who you are as a person or what you're capable of.

The scale is just a tool for information.

Ask yourself what have eaten recently that created this number?

You have complete control over how you want to think about yourself especially when it comes to the scale.

Beating yourself up, being mean to yourself because you haven't lost weight will not keep you on track.

It just makes you feel worse.

What if you decided to tell yourself you're proud of yourself for not giving up?

What if you became your best cheerleader during the process?

I challenge you to try this approach and see what happens!

It's okay to like yourself while you're losing weight - in fact it’s necessary!

If you notice that you haven't been very nice to yourself when you're on the scale, you can change that.

Decide that you like yourself enough to think better thoughts about yourself.

Mastering your mindset around the scale is an important tool to have while you’re losing weight.

Reach out to me if you’d like to learn how to do this!

Yesterday I was talking with a client who said she Yesterday I was talking with a client who said she lost 15 pounds doing a detox. 🙌

She bought the products and followed the plan.

She was thrilled when she lost 15 pounds BUT when she stopped doing the detox she gained all the weight back and more. 😢

While working with me, she discovered that she reason why she gained the weight back was because she wasn't treating the root cause of her overeating. 🤔

For her and for most people, its your emotions and the habits you have with those emotions that lead you to eat when you aren't hungry.

When you habitually eat when you aren't hungry you'll eventually gain weight.😲

There isn't a diet or a detox that can fix the root cause of overeating.

And if you don't figure out the root cause of why you overeat you'll always gain the weight back.

In order to lose weight for good, you must begin to notice why you're eating when you know you aren't hungry.

Are you bored, anxious, stressed or upset?

Is it a habit to eat when you walk in the door from work?

Or when you watch tv at night?

You will gain the weight when you use food to feel better or distract you from what's going on in your life.

If you really want to the lose the weight for good, you'll need to figure out the root cause of your overeating.

The best part is that once you figure it out you'll be able to makes shifts towards losing weight for good! 🙌

My client realized it's her uncomfortable emotions such as stress or disappointment that caused her to eat when she wasn't hungry.

So she started noticing and feeling the emotions instead of eating popcorn. 🍿

She tuned into her body and ate only when she was hungry and stopped when she had enough.

Just those little shifts created weight loss for her. 😄

And not only that but she's keeping it off too!

If you're tired of losing weight and gaining it back then reach out to me to schedule a FREE consult.

In this consult we'll begin to look at why you're not losing weight and I'll show you how you can make doable shifts to change that!

Are you an impulse eater? Impulse eating ca Are you an impulse eater?

Impulse eating can come from over-restricting foods and/or thinking restrictive thoughts about food.

You see something you want like donuts at work, or a half eaten bag of m&m's on the kitchen counter.

If you've denied yourself those foods you'll want them even more.

You tell yourself just a bite or handful won't matter.

Each time you give in it becomes easier each time to let your brain tell you what to do when it comes to food.

Your primitive brain drives impulse eating with thoughts like:

“I need to eat now because I don’t know if I’ll ever get it again.”
"I just really want this"
"That looks so good"
"I've worked hard for this"
"I deserve this"

Notice when you have these thoughts.

They are the thoughts that lead to over eating.

How to manage impulse eating:

You can learn to soothe this primal part of your brain.

When you soothe our brain you disengage from it. You move into the wiser part of your brain.

***You don't need to do what the primitive brain tells you to do.***

Disengaging looks like you saying "I hear you. I know you think you need this now. I'm taking care of us by not giving in."

Planning your meals is another way to manage impulse eating.

You can plan for the week or even the day before.

This is a tool that helps you move from making decisions with the primal brain to using your prefrontal cortex - your wiser brain.

When you make a plan you must include:
Enough food. 🍳 🥗 🍕 🥑 🥙 🍿

Foods that satisfy you.

Planning reduces decision fatigue because you're not thinking what am I going to eat today?

It reduces stress and drama around food.

It reduces restriction because you can plan for foods you like to eat.

Doing this work creates so much freedom around food.

You learn how to eat the foods you enjoy without overeating them.

Because when you restrict, you set yourself up for overeating.

Restriction doesn't work long term.

That's why when you lose weight you end up gaining it back and MORE.

Reach out to me and set a free consult call if you're ready to manage your impulse eating!

Link is on my bio.
