|Have you ever heard the term “Future Focus”?|
As humans we usually look to our past successes and failures to determine our current results.
For example, If we lost weight in the past and then gained it back, we probably believe we can lose weight but we will always gain it back.
“I’ve always been overweight, that’s just how I am.”
We define ourselves and our capabilities by where we have been and what we have done.
What does it look like to be future focused?
When we focus on the the future we focus on possibilities for our lives!
Possibilities such as being at your ideal weight and ending the cycle of dieting.
Imagine your future self and how you will feel if you reached your goal weight, or any goal for that matter.
Would you be more self-confident?
Would you trust yourself around food?
Would think about food less?
Would you just allow those urges and cravings to be there and not give into them?
What’s even more amazing is that you can be that version of yourself now!
Start by asking yourself these questions:
“What do I want to weigh?”
“How do I want to think about and feel about food?”
“How do I want to think and feel about my body?”
If you want lasting change you must become more aware of what you’re thinking and feeling now.
The way you think about yourself will determine how you feel about yourself and what you do for yourself.
If you look to the past you will be limited in what you can accomplish in your life.
If you focus on the future you will have unlimited possibilities!
