    My birthday is coming up this month and I'm orderi My birthday is coming up this month and I'm ordering cupcakes 🧁 from my favorite bakery. 😋

If I'm going to eat cake it has to be worth it to me!

I'll also be going out to dinner and having a cookout with family.

I plan to eat what I want to eat.

I plan to eat mindfully and enjoy the food.

But even more than that, I'm going love the people I'm with.
 
How do I maintain my weight eating the foods I love?

I decide what I want to eat and I eat when I'm hungry without overeating it.

I eat my food mindfully, enjoying each and every bite.

When I want more and I know I'm full I tell myself "I can have more tomorrow".
 
Do I do this perfectly? 

Definitely not. 

I overeat at times. I eat when I'm not hungry. 

When that happens I don't beat myself up. 

I just keep going, knowing I will overeat sometimes.

I don't use it as a reason to quit and give up.

    I ate all the foods I wanted to eat this past holi I ate all the foods I wanted to eat this past holiday weekend. 

But, I didn't overeat them.
 
I used to overeat all the time - especially on weekends.

At parties I would hang out at the food table so I could try everything.
 
What would it feel like to wake up after a long weekend, a vacation, or a Monday and not beat yourself up over what you ate?

What would it feel like to not worry and obsess about all the food you ate over the weekend?

I was tired of spending Mondays thinking about food - what I ate, how much I ate, why did I do that over and over. 

And this is what I did:

I chose to decide ahead of time what I WANTED to eat and HOW MUCH I’m going to eat before an event.

This is key to not overeating!

Also, I decided to really listen to my body's hunger and fullness signals I won't overeat. 

These small but doable steps helped me  feel at peace around food all the time.
