Do you crave salty, sugary, fatty foods? If you Do you crave salty, sugary, fatty foods?

If you do I want you to know that this is normal!

Its normal because most of the foods you crave are created so you WILL crave them and eat more of them!

Food manufacturers spend billions of dollars on marketing and research to create foods that make it hard to eat "just one".

Foods like:
Cookies, chips, granola bars, cereal, soda, candy bars, boxed cake and brownie mixes and fried foods.

Even bread and cheese!

Not only are these foods not beneficial to your body, but when you eat these foods you get a nice hit of dopamine which also makes you desire it more.

Just know that the more you eat these foods the more you desire these foods.

It might feel impossible but It is possible to lower your desire for these foods.

1. Eat more whole foods. 🥦🍎🥑🍠🥕
(I'm sure you've heard this before!). But it's true.

When you're eating protein, healthy fats and carbs (mainly vegetables) on a regular basis you'll be satisfied and your cravings for processed foods will begin to decrease.

2. Drink more water. 💦 Dehydration can be mistaken for hunger. It's recommended that you drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces. If that's too much aim for drinking a cup a day!

3. Just say NO thank you brain. ✋

Urges and cravings are created by your thoughts.

You may feel as though its impossible to ignore them. The key to diminishing their voice is to NOT give into the urge.

When you have a craving for chips you can choose to not eat the chips. Just ALLOW the brain to scream at you, like a toddler that wants a toy they see in the store.

Once the toddler realizes that you aren't buying the toy they will eventually stop screaming.

Same with your brain 🧠- the noise will start to subside.

When your brain says "I want a cookie right now" ask yourself "Am I going to act on this or just let it be?".

This is exactly what I help you with when you work with me!

Learning how to be around the foods that you crave and not eat them is a skill you can learn.

If you want to learn how to experience true freedom around food reach out to me to schedule a FREE Consult.

What's the #1 secret to the weight loss in menopau What's the #1 secret to the weight loss in menopause?
Drum roll please…

You don't need as much food as you did when you were in your 20s and 30s.
That's right…

The reason for this is that your appetite has decreased quit a bit since you were 20 years old.

And If you're eating the way you did when you were younger chances are you’ve probably gained 20 -30 pounds over the years.

I went through menopause early in life - late 40s.

It seemed to me that when I was going through menopause I was hungry all the time. SO I was eating all the time.

One reason why I was overeating was because I was experiencing lots of emotions. I didn't understand how to process them or even what to do with them so I ate.

I've since learned that my emotions are there for a reason.

They are meant for me to acknowledge them and feel them.

When you're in menopause its almost impossible to ignore them.

And this was good news!

This gave me an opportunity to start to differentiate how to eat when I was physically hungry and stop when I'd had enough.

And from there noticing the times I wanted to eat and knew I wasn’t hungry.

So the true secret to weight loss in menopause is learning how to listen to my body when it comes to eating.

Realizing that because my appetite had decreased I didn’t need as much food as I thought I needed.

Eating more food than your body needs for fuel was the reason why I was gaining weight.

If you just start practicing this one thing - eating when you're hungry and stopping when you're full - you will begin to realize that you don’t need as much food as you think you do.

And then you can start noticing how often you eat when you know you’re not hungry.

And use that as an opportunity to check in with yourself. Ask yourself “How am I feeling right now?” “Am physically hungry?”

Menopause is THE perfect time to begin to listen to what your body is trying to tell you.
