How often do you get urges to eat?

February 3, 2020February 7, 2020 by donna

How many times a day do you get an urge to eat something even though you know you aren’t hungry?  How do you usually respond to those urges?  For me, my most common urges come when I am bored or tired.  I wasn’t always aware that I was having an urge. I just thought I … Read more

Right now, you don’t believe that you can lose w Right now, you don’t believe that you can lose weight.

You’ve tried so many things in the past and you haven’t seen permanent results.

I get it.

There was a time when I too lacked belief in my ability to lose weight and keep if off.

BUT If you want to lose weight and keep it off you'll need to try something new - not just another recycled diet.

And if you decide to try a different approach
you’ll start to notice thoughts like “I’m too far gone”; “Nothing ever works for me”; “I know I’ll just be disappointed again so why bother.”

These thoughts feel true.

But they aren't true.

Its your primal brain's way of trying to protect you and keep you safe.

So how do you overcome the thoughts of your primal brain when it’s trying to protect you?

You have to make a decision to move forward in spite of the thoughts.

You’ll have to choose not to believe those thoughts.

I believe that every woman that works with me will lose weight and keep it off if they follow the simple strategies I teach them.

That if they commit to the process, they will see results that last.

So today you can just decide to try a different approach to weight loss and allow me to help you get the results you want in spite of what your brain is telling you!

I help women in midlife lose weight for the last time in healthy sustainable way.

If you tried everything and not seen permanent results, then we should talk.

Schedule a consult with me this week!

It’s time to lose weight for last time so you focus on a life free from food drama.

l love and enjoy food. But I also love NOT l love and enjoy food.

But I also love NOT thinking about it all of the time like I used too.

There was a time when food consumed most of my brain’s energy.

“I probably shouldn’t have eaten that donut. Now I’m going to have to workout an extra day this week.”

“Why did I have that second plate of food?”

“I need a snack to make it to lunch.”

“What am I going to eat for dinner?”

Constant food chatter.

That all changed for me when I learned how to manage my mind around food.

I started to feel my emotions instead of eating them.

I learned how to say no to urges.

I gave up snacking between meals (and I didn’t even miss it :)

The results of learning those tools were:

I lost and maintained my weight effortlessly.

I wasn’t feeling hungry all of the time.

I didn’t need to eat to feel better.

Here are two things you need to know:

You can enjoy food AND not think about it all of the time.

You can enjoy food AND lose weight.

If you’re tired of the constant food chatter, then maybe it’s time to consider a different strategy to lose weight that’s not a diet.

When we work together, we’ll create a plan that works for your unique body.

You’ll learn how to manage your mind and emotions around food.

Then the food chatter will stop.

And you’ll finally begin to lose weight but in a healthy sustainable way.

Has this ever happened to you after a few weeks on Has this ever happened to you after a few weeks on a new diet...

You start having thoughts like “I think I got this diet thing figured it.” - because you may be losing some weight.

You might even think “I got this” or “I don’t why I thought this weight loss thing was so hard before”.

And then someone brings donuts to work.

You’ve been so doing so, and you’ve even lost some weight so would one donut really make a difference?

You may even think: “I deserve a reward. I’ve been working really hard.”

“I’ll just have one.”

“It’ll be fine. I’ve been doing really good.”

But as you probably know once you have the donut, it gets easier to eat other treats that aren’t on your plan.

All of us have patterns and habits that we have created by our thinking.

Our brains love those patterns and habits.

So, when you want to lose weight, you may do well for a few weeks, but those old patterns and habits sneak in and you usually end up back where you started before the diet.

I help my clients learn how to become aware of what’s going in their brain, so that losing weight, gaining weight, and starting again on Monday will not continue to be their pattern.

I help them see their patterns and habits so they can change them.

And when they change their patterns and eliminate old habits they feel in control and empowered around the donuts and the treats.

If you’re ready to see real progress with your weight loss, then we should talk!

I have two openings left in my 1:1 Weight Loss Coaching Program.

Message me to set up a consult!

Can’t wait to talk to you! 😊

Create How do you reach a big goal like losing 30 Create How do you reach a big goal like losing 30 pounds?

You might think just having the goal and the diet in place is all you need to do.

Having a goal is a great place to start, but reaching that goal is about all the little decisions you make every day.

It’s eating the salad for lunch when everyone else is getting takeout.

It’s drinking water when you’d prefer a diet coke.

It’s looking at the number on the scale and not making it mean weight loss isn’t going to happen for you.

It’s noticing that you’re feeling stressed and then deciding to go for a walk instead of grabbing the chips.

It’s when you eat the chocolate chip cookies, knowing you didn’t want too, and NOT making it a reason to quit.

All those little decisions in the moment will determine if you’ll lose the weight or not.

These small decisions are what make a difference in whether you reach that big goal or not.

Your brains like to trick you into thinking that it doesn’t matter if you don’t eat the salad today because you’ve been “good this week”.

Or you should “reward yourself” with a cheeseburger and fries because you’ve lost 2 pounds.

Be onto your brain and know that every single decision you make will either move you towards your goal or away from it.

The more you connect your bigger goal to your day to day life the more likely you’ll be able to stick to your goal.

And the more you see your decisions in the moment and how it impacts your bigger goal, the easier it will be to make those decisions.

I help women in midlife lose weight for the last time by helping them stay committed to their goal even when it feels hard.

If you’re tired of stopping and starting diets and seeing no progress, we should talk.

When you work with me you'll lose weight in a mindful way that works with your body not against it.

Every diet or weight loss plan you’ve tried is t Every diet or weight loss plan you’ve tried is the same.

It’s some form of calories in and calories out but with a different name.

And when you try it you probably get the same results.

Do the diet – lose weight – eventually gain the weight back– beat yourself up – and then try another diet.

Choosing to eat healthier foods resulted in some weight loss for me.

But I still had urges for crispy snacks and SUGAR.

I kept giving into those urges.

Giving into those urges is what kept me from maintaining the weight loss I desired.

I began to stay at my goal weight when I understood how my mind and my emotions related to my weight and my relationship with food.

I stayed at my goal weight when I understood how to not use food as my escape, or a way to reward myself, or feel better.

I stayed at my goal weight when I understood how to lessen my desire for the foods I didn’t want to eat.

That is why I will never have to worry about gaining 30 pounds again.

And I’ll never have to try the newest diet on the market.

So, if you’re trying to figure out which diet would work best for you, keep in mind that the diet won’t get you the lasting results you want.

That achieving permanent weight loss is more than calories in and calories out.

And once you discover that, you too will have the permanent weight loss you've been wanting.

I help women in midlife lose weight for the last time.

I do this by teaching you how to think differently about food.
I teach you how to change the habits you have around food that keep you stuck and doing the same thing over and over.

You deserve a life free from weight and food drama.
I can help you get there.
